World’s largest LEGO® model has “landed” at LEGOLAND® California Resort!
After traveling more than 2,800 miles from New York City’s Times Square, the world’s largest LEGO® model is now on display at LEGOLAND® California Resort. The life-size LEGO® Star Wars™ X-wing starfighter has been assembled by the theme park’s Master Model Builders inside a hangar to be on display for you to enjoy through the remainder of the year.
Weighing more than 45,000 pounds and created from five million LEGO bricks, the massive model arrived in six freight trucks which hauled the 1:1 replica X-wing model across the country. The X-wing is 11 feet tall, stretches 43 feet long and has a wingspan of 44 feet.
The LEGO Star Wars Miniland Model Display includes scenes from the six live-action Star Wars™ movies, as well as one from the animated series Star Wars: THE CLONE WARS™ all made out of more than 1.5 million LEGO bricks and built in 1:20 scale. Guests further immerse themselves into the Star Wars experience as they walk through LEGO® Star Wars Gallery encountering large-scale LEGO minifigures from each episode. Each LEGO model stands 3-feet-tall and is displayed on a podium for guests to get an up-close look. The 12 characters feature: Yoda, Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Princess Leia, R2-D2, Han Solo, Chewbacca, Clone Captain Rex, Anakin Skywalker, Boba Fett, Wicket and Darth Maul.
